Guess what! April is #nationalcarcaremonth and we’re celebrating here at Warrenton Auto. Even though car care is what we do day in and day out, we’ll take any excuse to share our love for perfectly running cars! 

Now that April is here, that means winter driving conditions are officially gone. But did you know winter driving conditions can be quite damaging to your car and how it runs? It’s important to make sure tires, brakes, and more are ready for spring weather. It’s also a great time to complete a maintenance checklist so you can take care of any issues that may have occurred or been ignored during the winter. 

Here is a quick list of what to check and when to ensure your car maintenance is top-notch:

  1. Check Frequently
    – Dashboard indicator lights on
    – Lights
    – Tire inflation + condition
    – Windshield washer fluid
    – Engine oil level 

  2. Check every 3 months or 3,000 miles
    – Automatic Transmission Fluid
    – Battery and cables
    – Belts
    – Dashboard indicator light on
    – Engine air filter
    – Engine oil
    – Exhaust
    – Hoses
    – Lights
    – Power steering fluid
    – Tire inflation and condition
    – Windshield washer fluid

  3. Check every 6 months or 6,000 miles
    – Automatic transmission fluid
    – Chassis Lubrication
    – Engine air filter
    – Engine oil
    – Exhaust
    – Hoses
    – Power steering fluid
    – Tire inflation and condition
    – Wiper blades

  4. Check every 12 months or 12,000 miles
    – automatic transmission fluid
    – brakes
    – Coolant (anti-freeze)
    – Engine Oil
    – Exhaust
    – Steering and suspension
    – Tire inflation and condition
    – Wheel alignment
