Book Bag Drive at Warrenton Auto Service
Ah yes, those lazy, hazy crazy days of summer are upon us once again. We sincerely hope that everyone has been able to get out and enjoy the best of the season.
As for the team at Warrenton Auto Service, we’re as busy as can be. With seemingly everyone going on vacation (including many of our staff), we’re seeing a huge bump in the number of vehicles coming in for servicing. Everyone wants to be ready for those upcoming road trips, and rightly so.
With everyone’s brain still very much in summer mode, homework and exams are likely the last thing anyone is thinking about. Alas, students in Fauquier County will be returning to the classroom on August 17, 2015.
Unfortunately, for many kids, the sad reality is that they will be showing up to class woefully underprepared. And it has nothing to do with their summer mindset.
Did you know that over 600 hundred kids in Fauquier county alone will be in desperate need of school supplies this year? They will be lacking the very supplies many of us take for granted on a day-to-day basis. For low-income families, it is a financial strain to provide all of the required materials mandated by our educational system. Back packs, pens, notebooks, paper, glue sticks, hi-lighters: it all adds up regardless of the student’s age.
The first day of school should be an exciting time for kids. The last thing they should be worrying about is whether or not they’ll have their own pen and paper for taking notes.
As proud residents, Warrenton Auto Service is committed to helping out the community at large. We’re all about neighbors helping neighbors.
Warrenton Auto is assisting Fauquier F.I.S.H. (Faith In Serving Humanity) with this year’s campaign to put school supplies in the hands of those who need it most.
Fauquier F.I.S.H. is a wonderful charity dedicated to helping struggling families. The organization provides financial support and coaching for people facing economic hardship. Whether it’s food or school supplies, Fauquier F.I.S.H. aids those in need. And they are always looking for volunteers.
We’re asking our customers to help sponsor their annual Book Bag & School Supplies initiative. You can lend a hand to local students by donating items for the upcoming school year. Give us a call, or drop by the shop to pick up the list of required items.
We ask that any supplies you would like to contribute be dropped off at Warrenton Auto Service location no later than August 8th. This is the day the kids, along with their parents, will receive their new book bags.
Anything you can do to make this effort a success is greatly appreciated. Giving back to the community truly is its own reward. If you have any questions about this campaign, please don’t hesitate to call us.
Happy motoring!
